Idiot of the Day: Paris Latsis
Paris Latsis, 27, is the grandson of a dead Greek shipping billionaire. He is reportedly engaged to Paris Hilton.
We'll all owe Latsis a debt of gratitude if this gets Hilton out of the spotlight. But I still think he's an idiot. Paris Hilton's ideal mate is a big mirror so she can stare at herself and make soft coo-ing noises. The only thing more self-involved than Paris Hilton is a black hole.
This cannot end well.

It makes sense. Having a spouse with the same name means she'll hear her name more often. They'll probably name their kids Paris.
Maybe someone will give the happy newlyweds a clue for a wedding present.

I'm like, so totally happy for them! A little quote from Paris Hilton's autobiography: "I love my name. I'm going to name my own daughter Paris!"
They'll be like Mother Paris, Father Paris, Paris Jr., and little baby girl Paris, and the rest of the world will have a really good laugh.

I read in the Friday Wall Street Journal that Kathy Hilton, the woman who gave us Paris Hilton, has a reality show that starts later this month on NBC. On "I Want to Be a Hilton" 14 young people will "vie for the opportunity to live the glamorous lifestyle of high society."
I can't wait to see what kind of spoiled socialite-wannabe comes out of this genius feat of social engineering. Good lord! Paris Hilton goes from coked up trust fund C-list celebrity party whore to coked up trust fund A-list celebrity party whore thanks to a grainy stag film where she's a coked up trust fund Girls Gone Wild wannabe party whore. And people are fighting for the chance to degrade and humiliate themselves in front of a national audience while being judged by a gold-digging former child star whose sole contribution to the world is PARIS HILTON!?
Has the world gone totally insane?

paris hilton is my ideal role model. i love her to death, she is a great person. i do not care what the hell anyone says she is funny, kick ass, partygirl, likes good music, is the most beautiful girl in the world, along with ashlee simpson, and pamela anderson, i am also happy for paris and paris thats coll they have the same name and are both gourgeous! well well thats about it for me!!!

Hmm, Amy has a point. I do like assertive women who don't give a crap what the rest of the world thinks about them. Maybe Paris Hilton is a master at manipulating the media to create an image, even if it isn't the real her.
I kind of doubt it, but, whatever. It's good to have role models.
